Hey guys. I have a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer SE and my question is that I find that the stock speakers sound really great but they don't have that "Boom" that I want when I listen to R&B and Pop songs. I want to know, if I put in a single 10" or 12" Subwoofer in my car, will the stock head unit be able to support an amp and a subwoofer or do I need to buy a separate deck, amp and subwoofer altogether rather than just buying an amp and subwoofer? I want to avoid replacing the dash kit with an aftermarket one. What would my options be and how much would you guys charge for installation roughly?
Thanks,
Jack.

Yes you can add a subwoofer/amp to any factory system with a hi-to-low level convertor (some amps have them built in). Also an amp with a remote gain would let you control the bass on the fly, as the factory radio does not have a subwoofer control option.
If you do want to replace the deck, they do have kits now that look pretty good. You could even bring the kit to a car shop and have them paint match it exactly to your car's dash colour for a seamless fit. But the colour is pretty close anyway.
