Nordic Start fob etc advice pls

Hello all, forum noob here, hoping for advice.

I recently bought a 08 Kia Sorrento with a 3rd party alarm. Turns out it is a Nordic Start NS2422TW, but it only came with 1 – 5 button fob (FCC ID# NAHTDK4) that doesn’t work for doors, starter or anything, although the fob LED does blink when pressed.

The LED on the FM antennae blinks and I was able to put the vehicle in and out of Valet mode using ignition x 5. I found instructions to program the fob by flashing the hood pin but can’t for the life of me find it! There is a hood sensor that is round and flat covered with a black rubber casing, but it looks factory and when I tried pressing for 5 secs then release and re-press, the FM LED didn’t change to solid nor did the parking lights com on or the ignition switch, press lock on fob, do anything.

Is there another way to program the fob – or any other advice?

BTW, on another note, the vehicle only came with one key and the Kia dealership is unable to program another as there attempt locked the system for an hour. They are blaming the 3rd party starter and quoting me $450 to rip it all out and put in another....

Thanks in advance for any opinions!

[ Edited ]

Took it in to FS Merrivale OTT - my FS of choice. Tech fixed it in 45 seconds, gave me info for additional FS fob and a third party for key dupes.

Awesome service!

Re: Nordic Start fob etc advice pls

There is another way that you can attempt to program the remote ElkBooger. Under the hood see if you can trace a GREY wire coming from the remote start unit this will then hopefully come out of the firewall into the engine compartment , once you locate the wire , it may have a crimp connector on it or not? Depending on if the hood pin was installed initially. If you can not locate the grey wire coming out of the firewall look for it on the Nordic module under the dash there will be a grey wire on the 6 or 8 pin connector. Take this wire and connect it to ground just on the chassis (Metal under dash) now on the side of the remote start module you shoulp see a black push button switch , this is the P.A.B programming assistance button with that grey wire grounded the P.A.B now acts as the hood pin use the same flash and programm sequence as you would if the hood pin was present remember that not at vehicles will have parklight flash hooked up so you may not get a parklight flash but you will hear the relay for park light output on the nordic click telling you it is in fact going into the programming mode

Hope this Helps you out
