Nordic Start ns2422tw not starting car

Have a Nordicstart NS2422TW that i had installed in my Ford Freestar at future shop a couple of years ago. Battery died and remotes stopped working. I learned from the forum that the module probably reset, so I went through the process to reprogram the remotes. Now the remotes work for the door locks, but when I try to start the van, the van turns on but the starter doesn't turn over. From what I have read on here I think I have to relearn the tach, but have been unable to do so. I have no way to bring it in to a future shop as I have moved since the install. Can someone please give me advice on how to proceed? Thank you very much.

Re: Nordic Start ns2422tw not starting car

I can help you with this.

I just need you to check on something for me; after you press start on your remote, the van turns on but doesn't crank over, while this is happening, is there a "THEFT" light on on the dash that is flashing rapidly?

If that theft light is flashing rapidly, you will need to have you bypass reprogrammed to your vehicle.

The tach issue isn't going to be a concern yet, but it might be down the road.  But we can cross that bridge when we get there.

Re: Nordic Start ns2422tw not starting car

Thank you for pointing this out. I just noticed the theft light does indeed flash during start. If it is the bypass, how can it be reprogrammed? I live in seclusion, and am literally over 1000km from the future shop I purchased my remote start at, and the one garage in town is rather limited, so any do-it-yourself advice would be greatly appreciated.

You'll need two valid keys for the vehicle.
Find the bypass.
Unplug the black 4 pin plug.
Press the program button on the bypass. (Hold it)
Plug the black 4 pin back in. Continue to hold the program button until the light blinks red quickly.
Let go of program button.
Insert key 1. Turn ign on. Don't start.
Wait for theft light to turn off.
Remove key one.
Insert key 2. Turn ign on. Don't start.
Wait for left light to turn off.
Press program button. Led will light red.
Hit the remote start button.
Led will turn green.
Programming complete.

Let me know if that does the trick

Re: Nordic Start ns2422tw not starting car

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately I am still having troubles. I got the programming instructions from the manufacturer of the bypass (idatalink) which matched yours except for one step, I had to choose install mode (data or standard hardwire), I assumed it should be data mode, followed the steps and according to the LED on the bypass it is programmed correctly, but it is still not starting, and the theft light is still flashing when I press the start button. Not sure where to go from here. Any further advice? I appreciate all the help you have given so far, it has been really helpful.

Re: Nordic Start ns2422tw not starting car

There is an easy way to know if it should be in data mode or standard wiring.

That's a little embarassing that I forgot that step.

If its in data mode, there will be a cable on the opposite end of the bypass from the program button.

If it's in standard wiring mode, there will be no cable, it will be a plug with 3 wires coming out of it.  Red, Black and Blue/White.

U will also need to program the Nordic brain to accept the ads bypass by default it is set to xpresskits. And since your car only uses a tb bypass program it in one way mode as most liking that's how it was flashed to begin with

[ Edited ]

Have you learned the tach yet ??  flash hood pin (same as you would for learning the remote), while pressing the brake, press unlock/lock on the remote... car flashes 3 times, and then start the car with the key.. then press the brake.. lights will flash again when the tach is learned..

but if your close to a Futureshop, I would pop in and get them to relearn the remotes, Tach, and bypass..  (just bring a copy of your receipt, in case they ask you for it).
