Hey guys.
I need help ![]()
I just bought a Nissan Sentra 2001 and the lady I bought it from said that it has an autostarter that need to be reprogrammed as she has lost the codes by mistake, and she gave me two remote controls with the keys.
One of the remote controls has NAHRLCD4 as FCC code and the other doesn't have a LCD screen. Both of them do not do anything on the car.
So I browse the internet with the "NAHRLCD4" as a search parameter and a lot of thread on FutureShop's forum came out saying that I should first locate the "brain" of the autostart and then press some pin located under the car's hood.
So with that information in hand, I start looking for either the brain of the unit, or the pin switch under the hood. And after an hour, I couldn't locate either! I looked under the driver's dashboard, and the passanger dashboard, and nothing...nothing under the hood either, no pin, nothing...not even an antenna behind the rear-view mirror!
In fact I did find something. I found some plastic button written "LED" on it under the driver's dashboard, and when the car starts, it lights blue, and if you press it, it light red. Not sure if it is only a decorative item.
So I investigated a bit further. I have a blinking LED on the car's wheel. I read that to pass the autostart in "valet mode", you hit the ignition on and off 5 times. So to see if my car had an autostart at all, I did that manoeuvre, and the headlights blinked 3 times, and the red led on the steering wheel turned solid red! Which seems to indicate that I have an autostarter "brain" in my car.
Now, I am stuck. I want to program the NAHRLCD4 to communicate with my car, but I don't know what to do next. I think I have an autostart "brain", but I cannot locate it...
So I am asking you for a bit of your time and a bit of help if you can, or any piece of information you can provide me with to make me go a step further.
I live in Montreal, and I don't have lots of money, so any information you guys provide me with will be much appreciated.
Take care.
