I don't know if 'problem' is the right word; I've just never run into any retail establishment charging shipping to order something from a standard vendor of theirs.

There's reasonable charges; I'm not, for example, put off by a $50 install charge.  That's reasonable as hell, quite honestly.

Hey Slebrun,

I don't know 100% the situation just what was typed in this thread.  Sometimes if a company only orders certain skus from a vendor they are charged "extra" for ordering something out of their sku mix.

Whether that charge comes via no discounts or shipping I'm not sure but maybe that is the situation.

Anyway, the 3Sixty would work great in your situation as it would enable you to tweak the EQ and get it to sound GREAT...better than any head unit would make it sound.  Also it would give you the opportunity to add amps later on down the road if you wanted.

Let us know what unfolds.

getting to the initial point though

3SIXTY.1 has Bluetooth capability but it's very limited compared to the 3SIXTY.2 model. And to tweak audio settings with this device, you'll also need a Palm device. It's all worth it in the long run, but this thing really isn't better than all of after-market head units...

I'm not quite sure this 3sixty.2 thingy is what I'm looking for, based on a quick glance at the website.

Basically (heck, not so basically) I have a Windows Mobile phone.  It goes where I go.  I keep Audible.com audio books on it, as well as various albums.  Not to mention GPS software.  Sometimes, I even use it to make and receive phone calls. :-)

Most of this would (and has, when I've had the opportunity to borrow) work with a stereo with an aux-in on the front.  However, ever since I got a pair of Motorola S9 bluetooth headphones, and realized just how liberating a lack of wireage is, I always wanted a bluetooth car stereo.

My ultimate dream is to plunk myself down in the seat, start the car, hear the little 'pairing successful!' chime, hit play and motor off.

I don't mean to thread jack!  BUT... The 3Sixty.2 does have the ability to make your car sound EXCELLENT (stock system or not) over any headunit any day!

then we disagree

Just having the 3SIXTY.2 hooked up to the factory head-unit will not give you the kind of sound quality that competition style decks will (e.g. Pioneer's PRS HUs).

Are you guys serious? Some one comes on here looking for Bluetooth, and you are telling them to get a Rockford 360? It will do nothing for this person.

Personally I would stay away from any Bluetooth head unit with a built in mic. You are much better off getting one with an external mic that you can move around to put it in the optimal location for best noise rejection.

We don't charge any extra to special order kits at our location. It looks like Best Kits lists a kit for Sedona's up to 2008. So there should be something that works available.

I would recommend the Pioneer DEH-P7000BT, as it has both Bluetooth, as well as an auxiliary input to allow sound from the factory DVD player to play over the vehicle's speakers. Sure it costs more than the Sony, but it would suit your needs much better

Dereck,
I was more implying the 3Sixty is going to make the sound of the equipment THAT much better.  Of course as far as bluetooth is considered that's the means to connect to the 3Sixty.

different meaning of having Bluetooth capability...

That's exactly it - just a means to connect another device (e.g. Palm device) in order to make sound adjustments.
