Hey
I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma w/ either the Viper 791xv or the 5900 installed (not sure which one but both fit the remote and functions of the system it seems). I had to remove the battery, it was out for 5-6days. Now nothing works w/ the system. Cant lock/unlock the doors. Cant remote start it. Looked through the manuals on viper's website, but it doesn't tell you how to re-program these functions, only how to alter the remote response (beeping, vibrating), your run time, how your lights flash, etc. If anyone knows how to reprogram the system it would be greatly appreciated. I don't live anywhere near FS or car audio companies who deal with this system. Thanks

Viper 5900 (791 is same programming) has the big square blue remote and takes a triple A battery.
Viper 5901 is square but has a rechargeable battery.
Viper 5900 Remote Programming:
1. open door
2. turn ignition to on
3. push valet button once then release then hold it down
4. push lock on the remote you want programmed
5. unit should flash the lights or beep (depending on whats hooked up)
7. release the button
8. turn off ignition and try the remote (try lock first a couple of times)
Viper 5901 (new viper programming)
1. hold F button on remote for 8 seconds (two-way will show a menu, one way will beep and a light will stay on)
2. i. For two-way use the menu to find 'pair remote' and choose it in the menu to put remote into pair mode
ii. for one-way remote push the remote start button and it should flash the light on the remote three times
3. you now have 30 seconds to complete the rest of the procedure.
4. turn key in car to on postion
5. push valet button on antenna once, release then hold the button.
6. push lock on the remote you want to program. If successfull the two-way will read 'passed' and the one-way will beep
7. push unlock on the two-way to confine programming, and the f button on the one-way
8. remove key wait 30 seconds for remotes to exit programming mode, and test the remotes.
Remmember you can always get the installer to do this for you for free. Just bring in the receipt or work order to avoid and any issues.
cheers and hopes this helps

Hey
Thanks for the directions. It's definitely the 5900 model. But this hasn't worked yet.
So when we press the valet button the truck chirps and the security light flashes. Then we hold down the lock button on the remote. So this completes the procedure and the alarm goes off for 1sec. We think this means its accepted and is leaving the programming mode... But then nothing works after.. Any suggestions as to what's going on?
