Top game cars to fuel your creativity

[ Edited ]

The top video game vehicles ever produced are here. Have you heard of these? You should. Game on!

Top video game cars No. 6 - ’Crazy Taxi’ with a ragtop

Speaking of driver amusement, there are few things as amusing as a taxi ride from hell, so long as that hell is virtual and your lunatic fringe joy ride doesn’t result in life in prison. You play the taxi driver, and your ride is a top-down convertible that bears a strong resemblance to a Cadillac. Pick up fares and get them to their desire destination by hook or by crook. Catch air on hills and do not even worry about passenger ejection - this is a game, you know.

Top game automobiles No. 7 - G-1655 Interceptor from ‘Spy Hunter’

The debut of the “Spy Hunter” arcade series marked the point at which the James Bond fantasies of countless video game-playing youth were at least partially fulfilled. The G-1655 Interceptor’s cannons, heat-seeking missiles and environmental adaptability (from car to speedboat to motorcycle, and back) made it something any virtual Bond could want. After 25 cents of gratuitous vehicular murder against dark forces, your martini was shaken, but additionally stirred.

Top game vehicles No. 8 - Check out ‘Cruis’n USA’

A ubiquitous racer from the early 1990s, “Cruis’n USA” enabled arcade-goers to lock the steering wheel after a half-turn. Then there was that 4-speed manual transmission with strangely shaped gating for the shifter. But the Devastator VI was unquestionably the best car in this game - it literally devastated the competition from start to finish. A twin-turbo V6 with 394 horses was a big deal back in 1994, virtual or not. In a four-speed, that’s some massive punch and acceleration.

Top game cars No. 9 - Check out the car in ‘Gran Turismo 5'

In the game, there are three versions of the GTbyCITROËN that exist for racing. There was a concept model comparable to this at the Paris Auto Show once, and a production run even occurred in 2009, though the $2.1 million car did not go very far. The car was capable of 800 horsepower and was pretty remarkable.

Top game cars No. 10 - Taking a look at the very best from ‘Halo’

The last game supercar we will look at is the M12 FAV Warthog war buggy from “Halo.” The car does some severe damage as a killing machine with its enormous machine gun that never needs to reload bullets. The car is much better when you have somebody playing with you, but will make do alone also. The all-wheel steering car also can let you out as soon as the car is stopped. There are tires that will never get hurt and a water-to-hydrogen converter that does it instantly. It is the ultimate supercar that you would want.
