Another option would be to get a Receiver with Preouts and hook up a seperate 4 ohm capable 5 Ch Amplifier to power your speakers. H/T Receivers that advertise 4 ohm ability wouldn't do most speaker systems justice when the power is spread out into 5 speakers. Lots of quality second hand Amps around also. Use the Receiver as a Preamp. And as already mentioned by 3M, your best sound will come from matching speakers all around, especially your front three.

I think I would upgrade my speakers before jumping into a Marantz receiver!
But no. Your Marantz would make a very fine, albeit expensive, campfire if you hooked it up to those speakers.
My god, if a Marantz receiver can't drive 4 ohms speakers, I won't try to imagine what a Yamaha will do!!!!!!
BTW, the impedance rating on a speaker is only there for reference, it will have little to do with the real impedance of the speaker.
To tell somebody that a Marantz receiver can't drive Bose speakers is very misleading...![]()
