I personally have experienced 2 points of view with Telus TV:
We currently have Telus TV. We have 2 High-def TV's, but are only able to watch HD on one box. The Other box is SD only. As said above, the picture quality for SD is definately superior to Shaw Cable, and pretty much the same as Shaw Digital. The HD picture is also comparable to Shaw or Shaw Direct. Not sure about Bell. We had some issues with the TV going out when we first had it installed 2 years ago, and that issue was resolved by a helpful technician. Since then the only issue we had was with the 2Wire router which was initially used crapping out. Telus came out and changed our set-up to a separate modem and signal splitter, and we haven't had a problem since. I'll also confirm that the TV has no effect on your internet speed, speed that is slightly more reliable than Shaw.
On the other hand, we know people who had Telus TV installed, and had nothing but problems. They constantly had to reset their box to get it working, sometimes multiple restarts a day. They ended up switching to Shaw. They had no issue with the internet service. I was told by Telus that issue was resolved with the elimination of 2wire routers, so this should no longer be an issue.
If you're on Shaw Cable currently, there aren't many reasons to Switch to Telus, but there are a few that you may find worthwhile. First of all, there are way more options with Telus to pick and choose which channels you want. Next, the speed of your internet service doesn't have high and low periods like Shaw does. And finally, the rental of the TV box is free FOREVER as long as you remain with Telus. Shaw requires you to buy the box for a few hundred $$ or rent for a monthly fee. And if you're into downloading, Telus doesn't phone you to let you know that you're hogging bandwidth like Shaw does.

Sorry about delaying my review! It's pretty much done now, I have one more page of goodies to add. Read my current Telus TV review. As I mentioned I switched recently from Shaw to Telus TV. I hope I can save you some hassle if you are looking into switching. In the end I'm totally happy but you need to understand a few issues before you call them.
wiiman64 you make great points. That's what I found. It really came down to the channels. I'm getting way more channels with Telus for a lot less money than what I had with Shaw. I also don't think people realize how much it sucks to have an internet speed that is up and down depending on traffic in your area. That sucks!!

To answer your question if Telus TV is any good, from my experiences with it, it's garbage (to put it politely). I could go on a rant, but I will say some things that are fact and published by Telus themselves, first it says "supports up to six TVs" what they don't say is that you only get 3 feeds, so to have all 6 TVs on at the same time, you need to have multiple TVs watching the same program, and from my understanding if you're recording 3 shows at once (like the ad says) then all six TVs need to watch one of those three channels. So, a lot of technicalities, which I hate. Luckily I cancelled after about 20 hours, so they luckily waved the cancellation fee. So, personally, I would stay far away from Telus.

It didn't work for you, but it sounds to me like you just expected too much out of it. It might not be the service for you, but that's not to say its a garbage service. For my household with 2 TVs, its great.
