HD and Video Sources

My blue-ray disc player used to play all my Dvd's, all formats.  Now, it refused to play any of them.  It keeps saying disk error.  Just purchased a new blue-ray fitness program.  It played the first three dvd's fine. Now, it won't even play them. Disk error again.  The disc player will play blue-ray movies perfectly.  Anything else, it keeps rejecting any Dvd' s as disk error.  What can I do to fix this problem?

Just to clarify, is the fitness program blu-ray or DVD?

Have you done any system updates lately? Have you done anything different with your blu-ray player lately that is out of the usual?

My lg bd300 only plays blue ray discs, any regular disc gets read then I get disc error and machine discards disc. Machine doesn't get used that often have cleaned machine.Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Your BluRay player has to laser diodes, one blue and one red...I will let you guess which one reads BluRay discs.  I believe the red diode has burnt out and that is the diode that reads DVDs.
