Do you mean the upconversion? I believe it's automatic - i.e. if your TV supports 1080p it will upconvert to 1080p. Otherwise it will upconvert to 720p

What type of cable are you using to go from the receiver to the TV? If you are using HDMI, you should be seeing 1080p if your TV supports it.
If the TV's resolution is 1920x1080, then there should be no "upconversion" happening. It will be showing native 1080p, of which there is a clear difference from 1080p upconverted from 720p, especially on larger screens.
If you are not using HDMI already, then I suggest you start, as that is the best type of cable to use for the best HD picture possible.
