How-to create a How-To Video.

When you’re filming your how-to video, it’s best to follow a basic structure, like this:

Outline:

Give a brief description of what you are going to demonstrate and how you're going to present your information, including a list of all the necessary materials.

Demonstration:

Go through the steps of your "how to". Take your time and speak clearly.

Conclusion:

Show the final result, and finish up with any helpful advice.

Dos

  • Get creative - add you own music and graphics.
  • Use simple terms that even a beginner can understand.
  • Keep the video concise and to the point - no longer than 5 minutes.
  • Most importantly -- be yourself and have fun!

Don'ts

  • Do not include personal information such as name, address, age or phone number of yourself or anyone else in the video.
  • Do not submit a video if you are under 18.
  • Do not use music or background images unless you created them.
