Microsoft Xbox 360 & Kinect

I'm hoping somone can clairify this for me.

Last night, my fiance and I saw a deal here on futureshop.ca for a 4gb xbox 360 and kinect bundle. We don't do much gaming, but were really excited to purchase it. I called my local future shop and they said they had the item in stock and that the sale would still be available today.

When I went into the store today, they had no idea what I was talking about. They said that they were out of stock and the deal was during Boxing Day but was now over. They said they weren't sure when the item would be back in stock, but the deal was over long ago (despite what I had been told the night before).

Frustrated, I came home to look up the sale on the site again, but got this:

I would have purchased this item online had I know the store would have given me such grief. Was this deal real? Or did we imagine it? I'm just frustrated that I drove all the way to the store only to be told completely different info.... I was sure this was an actual sale..lol Now I just feel like a dummy.

That sale was on for Boxing Day, shows up in the Dec 26-27 flyer at min. 20 per store. Very likely it sold out that day. Even if it was included in the extended Boxing Week sale it's pretty unlikely it stayed in stock for long. Unfortunately my guess would be that the employee who confirmed stock over the phone made an error. Maybe they were looking at the 250 gb bundle

Looking on the website, there is no deal like that available at this time.

As debaser17 pointed out, this appears to have been a Boxing DAY sale as opposed to a Boxing WEEK sale. Unfortunately it looks like the associate who you talked to was misinformed, which is quite frustrating. And unfortunately, this is not the first time something like this has happened. People aren't perfect and sometimes mistakes are made and things are misread. My guess is whoever you talked to was looking at an old flyer without realizing it when they said the sale was available. Your best bet in the future would be to contact customer service directly WRT sales you see online, and they'll be able to tell you what's up.

What I don't understand is why this deal was advertised on the website YESTERDAY if it was just a boxing day sale....

That I cannot speak to, but it has happened where advertisements were missed or forgotten to be removed, and if someone was lucky enough to be able to show it, they would be able to get it at that price. I got War in the North for $20 off at a competitor because someone forgot to change the advertised price from a previous sale. Unfortunately though, now that it has been corrected, there is no way for you to get that price any longer. That sale ended 27 December.
