Making portable hard drive compatible for Xbox 360

So I just got a hard drive for Christmas since I have close to no memory left but I want to have it work with a 360, when I plugged it in the hard drive didn't come up as a option to look at. Laptop is a Mac and the hard drive is the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 500gb.

Re: Making portable hard drive compatible for Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 has the ability to make use of portable storage to help enhance the storage you have on your console. The caveat to this is that each individual USB port can only make use of a maximum of 16GB of space. Unfortunately you will not be able to use your 500GB hard drive with your console.

Should you get yourself a jump drive in order to augment your memory, all you need to do is stick it into your console and it will bring you through the steps for formatting the drive for use with the console. Once it is formatted, you will only be able to use it with your console and other 360s.

Hope that helps!
