Pre-order question about Splinter Cell

Hey everyone,

I'm mostly going to throw this out to any online employee of Future Shop surfing the xbox forum board. My situation is that on Monday, 12th of April, I went to my local Future Shop store in Sherbrooke Quebec to pre-order Splinter Cell Conviction. Now when I spoke to the representative, I told him I wanted to pre-order the game and forward the cash to secure the pre-order. Now during this process, the employee gave me a receipt after paying but did not write down any where on the receipt that the price for the game was 69.99 at the time and neither did he write down I was entitled to a 5$ gift card for pre-ordering, hypothetically the game would then cost 64.99$. As it is, I have my friend going tomorrow,Wednesday, to pick up my game because I won't be around and he has my receipt. My dilemma and question to the people on the forum is, when he will be picking up my game, will the employee know or will the system charge me the 64.99$ and at the total of the taxes reduce the total bill with the money I have already put as down payment? Because the last thing I need is for my friend to come up to me and say that I was charged 69.99$ for a game that I should have gotten at 64.99$ and the removal of the down payment. All info and imput on this topic would be useful and appreciated.

Thank you,

Re: Pre-order question about Splinter Cell

Actually, if you preorder in store, you should be getting the $5 gift card. Unfortunately, due to that being an offer included with the purchase of the game, you can't use the gift card immediately.

I think you may be confusing a $5 gift card with a $5 off coupon/offer.  The latter, is applied when checking out, while the former is a card that you are supposed to use the next time you come into the store to buy something.

If you had preordered beforehand online, you'd receive an immediate $5 off the purchase when you put it in your cart.

So your friend will have to pay $69.99 + taxes, and the next time you go into FS you'll be able to use the $5 card.
