When are the XBOX 360 Wireless Controller White Battery Packs coming into stock?

[ Edited ]

Hey guys,

I've been waiting for about 2 months and checking in store and on the website to see when a white battery pack will be released for XBOX 360 wireless controllers.  Future Shop stocks black, but nobody has white.  It doesn't seem to be just Future Shop either.  I can't find them at (competitor) or (competitor) or other electronics stores either.  I have a wireless controller that takes batteries and I want to put a white battery pack into it to match the controller

I've emailed futureshop twice in the past 2 months but haven't ever received a reply.  I asked in store why they weren't in stock and they say it's because Microsoft's stock after christmas goes down on the batteries.  That doesn't make sense though because they can pump out new XBOX 360 wireless controllers in white with a battery included no problem, and did they run out of white paint and can only release the batteries in black?  Also, they come in the quick charge kit no problem.  They just can't be packaged on their own.

Just curious if anyone knows when these will be in stock or where I can get a hold of one.

Thanks!!

To be honest, I'm not even entirely sure if FutureShop can even tell you... It's really Microsoft that sends them out when they have enough to send out.

I hear ya.  I'm hoping someone from Future Shop can tell me what they've heard as a response from Microsoft on when they'll get them into stock.  I have a Future Shop gift card and want to use it on a battery pack.  I was told "just one more week!!!11!1111oneone" from a Future Shop manager in Victoria 7 weeks ago, not blaming Future Shop at all, but wondering if maybe they've received some kind of announcement from Microsoft on where they are.

If you can't find one of these anywhere, why not try simply using rechargable AA batteries?  I bought a few battery packs from a wholesale competitor for a decent price, and now have about 12 rechargable NiMh AA batteries.  All I need to do is switch out the batteries every time they die, which takes all of 30 seconds.

Saves on using disposable batteries, and it would also save you on waiting for one of these packs to be available.

I have my own method of dealing with regargable packs when they get short on lifespan, but I'm sure neither FS nor any other retailers would appreciate me sharing them, so I'll just keep it to myself. :smileyvery-happy:
