Avatar, the 3D collectors edition, has just gotten a release date (Octobre 16th, competitor in the U.S) Now would be a good time for Futureshop to release a steelbook for it. Albeit, it's by FOX, and you guys have a hard time getting steelbooks from them.

avatar 3D is getting a Steelbook in Germany. i am trying to persuade a contact of mine in Germany to help me out with it.

but i agree it would be much easier and cheaper for us if Futureshop could get this Steelbook bor us.

Steelbook aside, i really hope the 3D release has all 3 versions of the film in 3D and not just 1 version

Yea, it really is an amazing movie. I rather enjoyed the extended cut

What's the difference between this and the previous extended edition?

The extended cut is longer, and has some other great scenes.

The "official" announcement indicates that the "3D Collectors Edition" to be released in October 2012 will only provide the original theatre version and none of the subsequently released extended versions. It is unofficially speculated that 3D editions of the other versions will be released later.

Well thats disappointing, i was hoping that the 3rd time i purchase this Blu Ray would be the last. but unfortunately not.

my favorite part of the extended edition is definately the alternate beginning with him on earth before he is recruited for the avatar program.

i love how James Cameron movies are great, and then you watch the extended cuts, and they are great on a whole new level. the extended cuts change the whole tone of the movie.

Terminator 2, Aliens, Avatar, all great extended cuts.
