Re: Disney's ENCHANTED

Very much agreed on Enchanted. I would for sure double dip for that. Great movie.

Re: Disney 2012 Blu-ray Schedule

Apparantly Treasure Planet and Home on the Range are also being released on blu-ray this summer - they are up for preorder on (competitor).

Collectible packaging would be great, even though I'm sure that will never happen.

And now they've announced even more blu-ray releases: http://www.homemediamagazine.com/blu-ray-disc/disney-preps-30-plus-movies-first-time-blu-ray-release...

So here's the updated list of animated films coming this year.

May 22: (Reportedly)

The Secret World of Arriety

Castle in the Sky

Whisper of the Heart

July 3:

Home on the Range

Treasure Planet

Summer:

The Rescuers/The Rescuers Down Under

Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure

Pocahontas/Pocahontas II

August 7:

The Aristocats

August 14:

The Tigger Movie

Fall:

Pete's Dragon (partly animated)

Atlantis: The Lost Empire

Brother Bear

Cinderella

Tinkerbell: Secret of the Wings

Brave

Finding Nemo???

Planes

Busy year!! I know it's completely unrealistic, but I really wish we could get Collectible Packaging for all the "Disney Animated Classics" as well as Pixar's films.

Re: Disney 2012 Blu-ray Schedule

That is great news.  They also list live action Disney films like FATHER OF THE BRIDE and COCKTAIL.

The more SteelBooks the better, I say!  Looks to be a very busy year!

How about that JOHN CARTER?  Anyone seen it?  I heard it is not doing well at the box office.

Re: Disney 2012 Blu-ray Schedule

Dare to dream big, mdewater!  Collectible Packaging for every movie!  You know they'll do them for Brave and Finding Nemo, since every other Pixar movie has been offered this way (and I'm proud to own them all).

I'm definitely picking up the Miyazaki trio (and probably Nausicaa while I'm at it), and I'm excited to see Atlantis as part of the fall lineup.  This really is a fantastic year for Vaulted films.

How about re-releasing Classic Disney movies with 3-D in them? A redo of Monster's INC. and UP would be beneficial too. After all, the Jumbo steelbook was very flimsy. I agree with some of the classics not getting the metal packaging treatment. I was very surprised that Tangle wasn't among them at first, but I would buy these up any day of the week.

Even redo the Toy Stories too, they look weird being Iron Packs. I'm pretty much wanting every single Disney out there to get treatment, but if i had to choose....I would want the classics to be done. No need for their sequels, except Resucer's Down Under. At least they made a good sequel on that classic.

Oh yeah, I had one more thing to add. What about getting Metal Packaging for Miyazaki or Studio Ghibli? I loved all of his films too. Princess Mononoke, Ponyo and Howl's moving Castle are amongst my favorites.

Thanks for listening and taking suggestions. This thread is a breath of fresh air. I only have one last question.

If Futureshop and (competitor) are basically owned by the same parent company, why is (competitor) always snubbed for releases? Shouldn't they go there too? I'm 30 minutes away from the border, but I just hate seeing customers who cannot reach the canadian border miss out and otherwise, pay lots of money on evil bay.

Re: Disney 2012 Blu-ray Schedule

I'd like to see all Disney animated movies released in collectible packaging, regardless if they have been already released in amaray only.

All collectible packages should have clean, full art on the front and back, preferably no text on the back, inside artwork, no blu-ray banner on the front top, no rating logos, and no non-english text on the packaging if it's a US-originated movie. A booklet would be a big plus. The France FNAC releases and some othe titles (Korea Avatar) have booklets. I debate whether they should fit inside the package or be the same size as the package. Generally, the bigger the book the better, with lots of pictures.

I would make a special request that Dumbo collectible packaging use the artwork unique to the Japan amaray blu-ray release:

If anyone needs a reminder of how to release a Disney title, just look at the Bambi FutureShop release. Kudos.

Re: Disney 2012 Blu-ray Schedule

Does anyone know how many steelbooks are produced in each title. I have noticed over the past year, that some titles are sold out immediately online, and are sold out in stores in a few days.

Does FutureShop determine how many copies are made? Does FutureShop determine how many are sold online, and how many go to the stores.

If anyone has any info, I would appreciate it, Thanks
