These hunger games steelbooks are the most poor excuses for a steelbook I've ever seen in my life of collecting steelbooks.
I got 1 copy of each from futureshop.ca opened them tons of scratch all over. Go in to my store and show them the lady opens up a couple more copies of each and each copy of all of them had some degree of scratching or nicking in the paint. I didn't even buy copies for my self I bought these to send to a friend in the UK and I don't even feel right sending this trash to him. These steelbooks are an insult to collectors the fact alliance would make such poor quality steelbooks and that futureshop would sign off on selling the cheaply made steelbooks as an excessive at there store makes me sick. This is the type of junk id expect to buy at a dollar store and not a high end store like futureshop.
These were FS exclusives that didn't even meet the standards of non exclusive steelbooks.
Futureshop management policy seems to be to make limited quantities that will sell out before lunch time (not everyone can get into a store at opening). Not to mention making a product in a shoddy state that for the most part will be bought by collectors.
I have a policy in life. If you set out to do something, do it right. I hope that Futureshop will not make this mistake again.
This isn't the first time ... the Smurf's steelbook was even worse, with the paint peeling on every single one I could find, in the packaging. I wonder if these are cheaper steelbooks than the average. Maybe they don't have a post coating applied, to reduce costs???

i didn't buy that one so can't say for sure. but yes these are very cheap felling paint. feels almost like a chalky paint. most steels seem to have like some kind of clear coating over the paint kind of like what cars have witch make the paint more durable and able to withstand rubbing and scraping without the paint coming off. these feel like they have the thinest possable laying of the cheapest possable paint and it shows when u can rub ur finger nail on it and paint scraps off. these feel so cheap that it feels like over time just sitting on your self the paint will probly get recked.

Seems to be the norm with FS steelbooks. Mario Land 2 had scratches and nicks all over them too as well as the Lorax one. Didn't help that they shipped it in a big box without any kind of padding or protection so they were just banged around inside. This is the quality you'll expect from free shipping.
free shipping had nothing to do with it. every copy instore was the same. i have tons of other futureshop steelbooks and all of them are mint.
i got a reply back from the head office witch was basicly them flipping me off. they hard to nerve to tell me to spend another 2 hours taking the bus back to the store to return them. i guess the don't know there own return policy were it speifly states no refunds on opened media.
I completely agree... I received mine in the mail yesterday and it was dented and broken, yet mysteriously the box it arrived in was in perfect condition. So that means that someone knowingly put into the box that way. Completleyunacceptable since it was a limited edition that I can't replace unless I want to pay a ton on (competitor)...thanks future shop...
