Re: Beauty and the Beast/Prince of Persia Steelbook?

Wow, these things are popular.  I've made three trips to my local Future Shop in the past two days and witnessed the sell-out last night.

There were about 6-7 copies when I first arrived around 8 PM.  As I walked around the store I noticed more people picking it up so that by the time I left they were sold out.

This must be the fastest selling IronPack Future Shop has had so far.  I didn't expect it to be sold out in two days.  My store started with about 30, and even my Entertainment guy told me that he had just seen a few more on the shelf about 10 min. before I arrived.

They weren't picked up by hoarders either.  Several people were holding one copy each.

Two guys just missed it.  They came in the store first and picked up the regular Blu-ray.  As they were looking at the BD and discussing amongst themselves, the IronPack numbers dwindled to nothing.  Then as they were about to leave, they doubled back with the flyer and were looking for the 'collectible packaging', asking an associate to help them look.

I wonder if it had anything to do with the $8 off, $24.99 for a new Disney Blu on the week of release is a pretty fair price. I didn't see anyone else buying the other day, but there were only about 8 or so left on the shelf.

The beauty and the beast ironpack is availiable for pre-order, but it is listed as a steelbook. I wonder which is right.

Re: Beauty and the Beast/Prince of Persia Steelbook?

I was downtown Toronto yesterday at Yonge and Dundas and they still have 10 left almost . . . so there are still lots around.  In Oakville there are quite a few left as well.  But it has moved better than other Ironpacks . . .

I was wondering if we can pre-order beauty and the beast in store. I could do it online, but I don't want to risk having a dent or a scratch in the mail.

Re: Beauty and the Beast/Prince of Persia Steelbook?

It doesn't let me do in store pick-up. Will there be copies available in store or it's going to be exclusively a pre-order?

Also, what is the difference between the french canadian and the english version? There is no writing on the box. Will there be writing on the discs or only on the cardboard cover that we trow out?

Online pre-orders never allow for in-store pick-up.  The pick-up option is based off of store stock, and since any store you want to get it from has no copies yet, there is nothing for the system to go off of.

When you order something for pick-up, the order goes into the system, where it goes to the store.  Someone there checks the stock, then goes and grabs the item and sets it aside.  Then you get an email stating it is ready for pick-up within three hours of you placing the order.  If when the associate at the store goes to grab the item and they discover that the item is no longer in stock, then you will get an email stating that, and your order will be cancelled.  You then have the option of putting in another pick-up order at another store.  Remember, you are not actually charged when you place the order for pick-up.  The only time you are charged is when you go into the store and get your item.

Store stock being what it is, it is physically impossible for it to be accurate up to the minute, which is why there is the delay in when your order is placed and when it is actually ready for pick-up.  It's also why there is never a guarantee that when you place an order for pick-up, that you will actually get the item.
