Anyone know if this new release is finally the remastered version that was released in the U.S. last year?

I didn't get the orininal release because it's known to be one of the worst looking blu transfers on the market and have been waiting for the remastered one.

Also is it a steelbook at F.s?

That would be a bonus.

Yes, this new release of Gangs of New York *should* be the re-mastered edition. Honestly the best way to tell is when it arrives in store look for the following

Audio: English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1

If it only says a LPCM 5.1 track, then it's the old version.
