This is more of an open request to the Future Shop movie buying department.

This morning it was announced that in the UK, a special series of SteelBooks will be released to coincide with Universal's 100th Anniversary titles.

The titles announced so far include:

THE INCREDIBLE HULK

HULK

THE THING (1982)

CARLITO'S WAY

CASINO

SHAUN OF THE DEAD

PITCH BLACK

HOT FUZZ

KICK-ASS

CHILDREN OF MEN

AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON

HELLBOY 2: THE GOLDEN ARMY

These are offered from a foreign retailer which does not ship to Canada.

I know that we already have SHAUN OF THE DEAD and HOT FUZZ released on SteelBook, but how about the others?

Any chance that similar SteelBooks can be offered to Canada through Future Shop?  Perhaps Universal Canada would be as willing as Universal EU is to offer these and I think they will definitely help boost sales, especially for older catalog titles.

I know that I, for one, would buy these titles again (and sell off my regular blu-ray) for the SteelBook.

No dates have been announced as of yet.  However here's hoping that Future Shop can pull another FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 and get the SteelBook for the win in Canada.

Just recently, pictures have been posted for Universal SteelBooks in other countries.  Is there a chance that Universal/MCA Canada might release these for Canada?

Europe is definitely a hot location for Steelbooks, but unfortunately for us here in Canada it takes a great deal of work with the studios to secure these. The G2 sizes are produced in Scandinavia, so it takes us a long time to procure them.

There is talk of a G2 producer being based out of the US, which would drastically reduce the cost, and hopefully increase availability here in Canada.
