I notice Futureshop sells a few record players that convert your record to MP3's. If I bought one and hooked it up to my computer, would I be able to listen to the actual record through my computer speakers? Here is the link to the different types. I am eyeing the $89.99 version. And can I use a FS gift card to make a purchase online?

Re the Ion "Profile LP" USB turntable:

• when you hook it up to your computer, I don't think you can listen to the music in real time. You need to record the music to a file first, then play back the file
• it does have a line-level analog stereo output, which you can connect to any home audio system for listening to music in real time
