Washburn guitar help

[ Edited ]
Hi, I'm new to guitars and I'm looking to find a good beginner electric guitar with a price that isn't heavy. I saw one advertised on the futureshop website. It was a Washburn package at under $200 I think. It was the House of Blues package. I was wondering if this was a good guitar, cuz I don't wanna end up buying a crappy guitar in the end. Thanks in advance

Re: Washburn guitar help

Hey o1l3rsf4n,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. The Washburn package is a reasonable starter kit but I can tell you that the amplifier is far from fantastic. Even considering a slight upgrade such as this Squier starter pack (http://www.squierguitars.com/products/search.php?partno=0301600032) which we sell for $224.99 would be well worth the extra bucks. Otherwise, if you're not sure how long you're going to be interested in guitar and just want something to get you started, a guitar is a guitar and the Washburn guitar you are looking at will still do the job. If you live in Edmonton I would recommend you come in and take a look for yourself. Otherwise the Squier is what I'd recommend in that particular price range.

Hope that helped.
