Hello fellow pre-orderers.
Bad news for those who still haven't received the second half of their orders, meaning the advertised steelbook that was promised. After trying to contact customer service for what seems an eternity (weeks), I was finally told by a customer service rep that all steelbooks have been cancelled by the manufacturer. Congrats to those who got theres but for the rest of us we are **Bleep** out of luck.
I am pretty upset about this myself, I paid my money and pre-ordered like I was supposed to, yet half my order is missing. The rep basically told me "sorry, but have a great day!". I was not content with that, obviously and rightfully. So I am now waiting to hear back from them to see what they can do to make up for this mistake on their part.
I understand Future Shop can't be to blame 100% because, at least according to the rep I spoke to, this was a fault of the manufacturer. However, FS has a responsibility to its customers, since they chose the manufacturer and chose to advertise this "bonus" to try and entice customers to purchase with them instead of any of the other competitors. I, along with many many others, took the bait and are now left waiting for something that will never arrive. FS needs to man up to their mistake and offer us all some form of consolation to make up for it.
I'll update this thread when I hear back from the higher ups with what is being offered as a consolation (at least in my case).
Cheers guys.

Sorry, I should have made it clear I was referring to The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword steelbook. However, from what I understood this relates to all the previous steelbooks that were offered as well.

I'm sure if something drastic like that were to have happened, Godwin would have posted about it, especially considering how much he's been around lately with all the commotion over the new Star Wars game. He would certainly know something like that before the CSRs would.

I hope so. I was really looking forward to receiving that since i'm a huge collector of Zelda related merch. If there was still some way to get it I would be all for that, however that's not what the rep led me to believe. Hopefully Godwin will have some other news to shed on the situation.
Edit: Also congrats on 1500 posts haha.

I don't understand why people are still waiting for the Zelda SteelBooks?
They arrived in-store a few weeks ago in my area and there was a surplus. I got mine at store #1, and then store #2 called me and so I went in and exchanged my first one (with a few scratches) for another without scratches.
Store #2 had a several both behind the Customer Service counter, and in the Entertainment section for several days. I had assumed the issue was resolved and that everyone who wanted one, got one.
I believe I even posted here (along with others) saying that they were in stock in the stores so go out and get them now. I think some people responded saying that they did not want to go in the store because it was inconvenient for them and wanted to wait at home for the mail to arrive.

Furthermore I think this title is very misleading.
Future Shop asked for, and attained the upcoming FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 SteelBook next month, which is the envy of SteelBook collectors worldwide. I have already pre-ordered for that.

I understand that rule, but I figured this topic isn't in violation of it. All I wanted to do was inform the people whom are still waiting for the product, that I was told by an FS rep it has been cancelled, along with any previous steelbooks. As for the Final Fantasy XIII-2 one, I am not completely sure but the representative told me "ALL steelbooks have been cancelled due to a manufacturing error". Whether this regards the FF one or not is beyond me, but considering they're still advertising it, I assume it does not.
This thread wasn't meant to complain and single out my situation, or to bash any company. It's only intention was to inform everyone in a similar spot what is happening about the product they're expecting. Thank you for sending my complaint to the necessary department for investigation, I have also done this and am waiting for a reply which I have been assured is coming.

Futureshop's Steelbook promotion has always been in limited quantity, while supplies last, and a first come first serve basis.
The Steelbooks are demanded by a lot of people, so and they go very fast! Not to sound rude or anything, but next time, order yours as soon as you can!
