This is more like a website post.
Yesturday I looked on this site to see if any Wii's were avalible and it had a green checkmark stating yes, Futureshop has them in. I called the store and they told me they have some in. So I went into the store and asked an employee if they had any in, he said "no." I get back home look at the site again and they still say they have some in. The next morning I looked on the web site again and they still say they have them in. I'm very fustrated with this and dissapoined too. I think the website should keep on top of this and have their site up to date at all times.
I'm from Saskatoon by the way. Helpme to understand this.

They're flying off the shelves faster than they can stock them. I think your best odds are to go in to FS and ask when the next shipment arrives, then make sure you come back to the store before it opens on that day.
Of course I've seen plenty of Wiis at a certain popular **competitor**, and they seem to have them all the time.
Try out a variety of stores and see what you find!

Hi...the info you get on our website is always up to date. What the problem usually is, specially with Wiis, is that Wii's are recieved early on the week but hold until friday for flyer promotions and to let as many people as possible that we will be selling the Wii's on fridays. Some times the Wii's get recieved on the system and thats why the computer says they have them, they do, but can not sell them, that is why some times we tell people we don't have them. I would suggest that if the internet says we have something and you go to the store and they don't you ask to speak to the manager of the department to 1.ensure the employee is not mistaken and perhaps we do have some, 2.have them take your name and call you once we have it for your trouble, and 3.In case we don;t have them the manager can verify it and change the system so that more people don't come lookign for them.
thanks. bye..good luck finding a Wii I know is hard
Entertainent.

Or is it an add-on to an existing computer game console? What I mean is...do you already need to have PS2 or whatnot in order to play Wii or is it a stand alone system?
(for all game geniuses out there....I haven't played a video game in about 15 years - so I am TOTALLY GREEN - and don't require sarcasm
- just some simple help)
Thanks

This is completely understandable, I know the wii has opened up a demographic that maybe have never played video games before.
The wii is a stand-alone system made by Nintendo. There are 3 console manufacturors competeing for your $$: Nintendo (Wii), Sony (PS2 and PS3), and Microsoft (Xbox 360). They are each stand-alone systems, but they are completely different platforms (games and accessories are not intercompatible with each other). If you're buying the Wii, you'll need to buy Wii games and Wii accessories.
Now the gameing experience on the Wii can be expanded with certain peripherals (like the Wii balance board, Wii Speak, etc) and controllers. And the Wii is also backwards compatible with Gamecube games and controllers. Once again, the Gamecube was also a stand-alone system by Nintendo, but has been superceded by the Wii. So you can play Gamecube and Wii games with your Wii right out of the box (of course you'll actually need the approriate controllers to play).
I hope this helps, if you have any more questions, I check back here often.
Thanks!

I was worried I'd spend the money for a Wii system just to find out that I'd already have to have other equipment waiting at home.
Cheers, happy holidays.
