We've got a whole slew of all-star community members, some new, some seasoned, all worthy of the crown - which will come to them in the form of a $25 gift card. So how does one become the Kudos King/Queen? The community decides by continuing to give Kudos to helpful posts.
Every week starting October 31 - November 6, we will crown the Top Kudoed Author for each of the boards below as King/Queen for a week. This title gets you admiration from the commuity, a shout out on the board you topped, and a $25 Future Shop gift card (to help you get started on that holiday shopping...).
Rules and Regulations can be found here. But every Thursday until December 4, 2008, I will tally the votes and announce the winners here, and on the respective boards.

According to the conditions, it's per week. Kudos will be tallied up every Thursday at 4:00 and winners will be posted once they're ready.
As a new user, here is some info that should help you get kudos:
- Be helpful. A simple yes or no answer might answer the question, but a bit more information on how to do things is that much more helpful.
- Be respectful. No one wants to give kudos to someone who makes a personal attack. This doesn't mean you can't disagree with a previous post, just be respectful and make your response helpful to the original poster.
- Make sure to read the previous posts and original post thoroughly. No need to repeat something that someone else said, but if you have something useful to add, definitely do so. I've seen posts with kudo after kudo, because subsequent messages added to the previous messages!
- Find an area of the forums you're comfortable in, and if you find one without some of us regulars, you'll be more likely to achieve the top number of kudos. Boards with little activity include Music, Movies, Appliances and to a lesser extent Photo, Communications and iPod & MP3. (Maybe now that I've stated this, those boards will get more activity!)
- If you have just purchased a cool new item from Future Shop and want to give a thorough review, that can be a great new way to pile on the kudos. Alternatively, if you see a cool new item that Future Shop is likely to begin carrying shortly, give some information about it. Check out this thread for a great example.
- And don't forget to pass the kudos along too. If you happen to be perusing the boards and see a post you think was helpful, give it a high five with a kudo as well. While this could stimulate competition, I'm hoping we can all be mature and use it correctly. Ultimately, those who provide useful and helpful posts deserve to be creditted, even if its just on the section's kudo list.

The odd thing is that it was brought to my attention that some people might be trying to cheat with this. Sure enough, I just checked and those of us who truely try to help other users are now all of a sudden getting beat out... and the same people are doing all the Kudoing. Apparently someone might be figuring that they can take advantage of this.
To those trying to take advantage of this contest, please be aware that I will be bringing this to the attention of the moderators and administrators. I'd rather not have this contest in place if people are going to try to cheat the system. While this contest is a great little incentive, it's far from the reason why many of us regulars post on here.
And as an FYI, according to the rules, anyone trying to circumvent the system will be disqualified. See section 16 copied from the rules and regulations listed below:
16. If for any reason the Promotion is not capable of being conducted as intended by Future Shop, including due to computer viruses, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause that corrupts or interferes with the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Promotion, Future Shop may, at its sole discretion, disqualify any entrant responsible for such misconduct and cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the promotion.
