Connecting multiple video

Could someone out there tell me what I need, to be able to connect multiple video devices to one television...ie: 1 VCR, 1DVD/VCR combo, and possibly 2 Blu-ray players, without using a receiver?

Thanks!

Re: Connecting multiple video

Depending on the type of television, you should have multiple inputs available for devices such as this.

Most HDTVs have at least two HDMI inputs, as well as one or two component and at least one composite inputs. Assuming this is the case with your TV, then you should be able to hook the blu-ray players into the HDMI inputs, the DVD/VCR combo into the component input (assuming it has a component output on it), and the VCR into the composite input.

Take a look at the back and sides of your TV. You should clearly be able to see what inputs are available and then determine the best way to hook up the devices you are after. You may need to purchase the appropriate cables (eg. HDMI, component) separately.

Hope that helps!

What is the make/model of your TV?

What type of video and audio inputs (HDMI, component, composite, digital or analog audio) does it have?

Yes, switchboxes are available to allow multiple sources to be connected to a single available input on a TV. However, the type of switchbox you need will depend on the type of inputs your TV has available. For example a TV with an HDMI input will require an HDMI switchbox like this one .An HDMI switchbox will be of no use to you if you have an older TV that lacks an HDMI or DVI video input or if you have an old DVD player or VCR with only a composite video output - that requires a different type of switchbox.

Worse case scenario you could end up needing a couple of different switchboxes (one HDMI, one for analog video). It is that sort of a situation where an AV receiver is the best solution, because you can connect all your various analog and digital video sources to it, the receiver will perform the source switching, and the selected source will be sent out over a single HDMI cable to the TV.

Re: Connecting multiple video

Sometimes devices have more then one set of rca inputs you can plugin more device to and some have hdmi connection which you can use if your t.v. has hdmi plugin.
