Complaints;
Facts:
- The Canadian Internet, does "not" have freedom of speech !
- The Canadian Internet, is totally controlled and under full censorship !
- No bad mouthing or any complaints, will "not" be allowed on any Canadian Internet, web sites !

Fact: You are not free to say whatever you wish on a privately owned and operated website.
Fact: The forums rules, as quoted above, indicate that this is not the place for customer service issues.
We like talking about tech and helping to keep people informed on the latest and greatest technology stuff, as well as provide minor troubleshooting for tech-related problems.

My issue is that I brought 4 laptops from Furture shop all of which were for my 4 children for christmass old in which the age range from 10 to 13 years old . One of the laptops has a criche in the screen and is not a year old yet. I returned the item back to Future shop in the hope of them replaceing the item or repairing the item but after two weeks of them having the item they would not rpair or replace the item only for a fee of 512.00 dollars in which I could buy at least 3 more laptops what a joke that was !!!
So we had to send the item to ACER yes in Ontario at the expense of 37.00 dollars via a courier.
I have brought all of my items from Future shop like 4 I Pods...4 Nanos.....A play station with all the bells and whistles...A skylander with all the bells and whistles too....The WI as well with all the bells and whistles...Two Smart phones...PS3 with all the bells and whistles and THE WAVE FOR THE Phop and one of the PS3 TOO.....
What kind of service is that when we have spent a lot of dollars in Future shop and the I POD we brought insurance from Future Shop and we had to fight with the store manager to have it repaired......
So my question is what is going to be done ???????

As for the courier fees for sending them to Acer for diagnostic and/or repair, that's something to take up with Acer and you should probably read the terms of the warranty you have with them for the first year of ownership.
Now for the rest, is there something else you are having trouble getting repaired? What's the issue with the iPod?
And one more thing - the service plan you buy from Future Shop is NOT insurance. It's an extension of the manufacturer's warranty and only covers issues that arise from defects or "normal wear and tear" of the device. It doesn't cover physical damage (ie. cracked screens), consumable items (ie. batteries) or software problems.
Hope that helps clear a few things up for you.

Ok now that's funny. I had the same issue with a sales rep calling the "warranty" - "insurance" I guess it's the new tactic since no one wants to buy the warranty from them!
Bought an iphone at xmas for my daughter, was asked if I wanted to buy the "insurance" to cover what apple doesn't. I was specifically told that it would cover my daughter dropping or breaking the phone in anyway. When told that I JUMPED at the chance to purchase the "insurance", teens are always breaking their phones. I'm not stupid, had I not been told it would cover breaking the phone I wouldn't have purchase it - guess that's why they lied since I said no 3 times before the sale rep said that. I was also told I could cancel at anytime.
Well my daughter broke her phone the other day, went to future shop to get it fixed. Was told it doesn't cover physically damage etc., I then phoned to cancel the "insurance" and was told it's a warranty and I'm stuck with it for 3 years - $14.99 x 36 months 539.64 for a phone that cost me $0.00! Supervisor told me "if a customer chooses not to read the packaging in the first 30 days it's not their problem"
Unbelievable response by an employee and horrible customer experience. I was told by the "supervisor" she's been employeed with Future Shop for 7 years and is well aware of what the program is. Was knowledgeable of course, to the point of condescension, helpful to the point of being insulting. I am completely disappointed with the lack of resolution to this matter. They told me to go back to the store and speak to the manager. Store tells me to call warranty department, warranty department tells me to call store. They have definitely lost me as a customer but they don't care, I'm only 1 person, sad.
