Taking a laptop in for a repair...

I bought a laptop a while ago with an extended warranty.

It was at least 6 months before I even took it out of the box to use the first time.

After that it was used very little.

Eventually, what seems to have happened is the hard drive failed.

If I had used it more I might have been alerted to the computer failing very early on.

Upon moving to a new home it totally decided not to work and is wasn't my main computer I paced it back in it's box hoping to find the receipt and warranty. That was almost a year ago.

At someone else's prodding I decided to call Future Shop. They were able to track down my purchase record and it ended up having over a year left on the warranty.  To say I was happy would be understating it.  I had put it off for so long and never finding the warranty, well I was sure I was out of luck.

After taking it in I get a call the VERY NEXT DAY, they were sorry that they didn't have the part in or it would have been ready when he called but they had to order the part and sorry that it would take a week. I was laughing, "No problem, thank you very much".

Thank you for the great service and I'm not just referring to the warranty. It has been many years since I've had to deal with Future Shop customer service in this way and I was VERY impressed with the guys dealing with computer problems.  Their service was great and their knowledge was appreciated.  I had dealt with Future Shop many many years ago when it first opened in my city and the sales people who had sold me computer didn't know much about it; in fact they lied about what it could do and what was inside.

So, this is an awful long and roundabout way to say THANKS and great job but there it is.
