Why can't I buy a TV needing to be shipped from a different region?

[ Edited ]

I went into a store today to buy a TV. The TV I wanted wasn't in store stock as I didn't think it would be(over 50"), but that's was OK. I was told it would take about 5 days to get shipped in, I figured that's OK. So when the sales man looked on the computer he told me it would probably take about 2-3 weeks because it was "out of stock". So I said "there's not one store or warehouse in Canada that has one?" the sales man checked, which I thought he already did but that's besides the point, he showed me that there was a lot (20 or So) scattered through out BC but I can't get one of those shipped because its in the "WEST" area and I'm not.

I had no problem with the sales man, he was great, but why as a company as a whole that generally doesn't have store stock of large TV's am I not allowed to be sold a TV that needs to be shipped from a different region? It needs to be shipped to me regardless due to your "special delivery".

Any associates, mods or admins willing to answer my question?

Re: Question

Hi jts_360

Unfortunately the mod team and members of the community dont have that kind information.

Associates may have a better idea, but I cant guarantee it. You could always try contacting customer service via email at service@futureshop.com or by phone 1-800-663-2275 so they may address your concern.

Quick tip to get a faster answer: Use a good title - a short description of your problem will catch the right people's attention. (I've changed it for you this time)

Re: Question

Thanks Julez, my bad, I assumed that mods and admins were employees of futureshop and would have an explanation for my situation.

I will try the 800 number and see where that gets me. It ticks me off that I want to buy something and choose an advertised TV in a futureshop and be told no.

As for the title/heading, I wasn't sure what to put there when I started so I went to the body and forgot to go back to the subject to finish the title. Thanks for the change, I wasn't even sure if I could change a subject title.

Re: Question

OK, called that 800 number and was absolutely no help.

Well let me ask this, who should I be speaking to about when these TV's(Samsung 55" LED UN55B7000) will be ordered for store/warehouse stock? Is there somebody that an admin could get to email me in regards to if these TV's are on order from the supplier?

Re: Question

There's no contact info for people with access to Futureshop's supplier/buying info.  The closest you'll get is the 1-800 number you already tried.

Re: Question

That's what I was thinking yesterday so I went back to the store and paid for it in full via layaway. Got a call today from my sales man saying the warehouse now has one, so he turned my layaway into a sale and I should get it on Thursday!!! YAAAH!!!
