I think these USB wireless network dongles are specific to the TV and its manufacturer, so you can't simply plug in any USB wireless dongle and get it to work.

There are, however, many alternative ways to get a network connection to your TV if it is not practical to run a network cable between your home network's router and the TV. Here are two options:

1. buy a home power line networking product - it will allow you to get a network connection from your home network's router to your TV using the power lines in your home to transmit the signal. One box cables to your router and plugs into a power outlet near the router. The other box plugs into a power outlet near the TV, and then cables to your TV's ethernet port.

2. buy a wireless bridge device (sometimes called a wireless gaming adapter). The device connects with a short length of network cable to your TV's ethernet port, and communicates wirelessly with your home's wireless network.

Both types of products are sold by Future Shop.

You could also purchase a BluRay player withi built in Wifi if you haven't already done so. They will run around $150 to $170 on sale, as opposed to the dongle at $120.

All gaming consoles, Wii, Xbox360 and PS3 are also WiFi capable, the PS3 will play BluRay as well.

There are also media streamers such as Apple TV, LG Smart box and Boxee Box.
