I need to know how to get the closed caption off my tv screen

To help you, we need to know a few things.

1. What make and model is your TV?

2. Do you receive your signal though Digital Cable box or Satellite? And if so, which provider? 

Usually it is a simple task of brining up the menu. Going into preferences or setup, and selecting Closed Captions, or C.C. However it could be your cable box or satellite box that is generating the closed captioning.

HI I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO GET THE CLOSED CAPTION OFF MY TV SCREEN BUT IT STILLS SHOWS MY TV IS A SHARP FLAT SCREEN AND I DO HAVE CABLE ON IT AND MY PROVIDER IS SHAW PLEASE REPLY BACK THANK YOU

At the bottom of the remote for the Sharp TV you should have buttons marked like this:  

--------- FAVORITE CH ------------

A          B            C              D

Under the A, B, C, and D buttons is a hidden panel. Take either side of the remote, just under the A, B, C, and D buttons, and pull toward you. The panel should pop open and flip down to reveal some hidden buttons. One of those hidden buttons will be marked CC.

Press the CC button to toggle through the closed captioning settings. Keep pressing until "CC   :   OFF" is displayed.

That should do it.
