What is optimal Home Theater connection?

Right now, my connections are as follows:

Videotron HD Cable out --> HDMI--> TV input

Sony HTIB out--> HDMI --> TV input

Videotron HD Box out--> Analog audio -> Sony HTIB input

I realize that I should upgrade audio cable to digital but am I also better off connecting Videotron video output directly to HTIB?  Note that this could not be done with HDMI since the HTIB does not have any HDMI inputs.  Please advise.

I dont think connecting the video output to the HTIB would make any difference.

everything looks good.  i would just use an optical audio cable to connect your box to your htib.  thats all you need man.  easy peasy.
