Basically I am compiling a list of the best gaming accessories (mice, headset etc) to get the best bang for your buck thats available from FS.

Lets start off with the mice:

Carefully choose which best suits you as a gamer. Some are for 'low sensitivity' gamers, some high, some are for people who like 'heavy' or 'light' mice and some are for people who click with their fingertips (see Logitech Laser Gaming Mouse (g9x) ).

I personally use Microsoft Sidewinder x5. You should choose from:

Headsets:

Personally i've had bad experiences with logitech's headsets but havent really tried the more expensive versions. A lot of gaming headsets from FS are really expensive. For the cheapest but good bang for your buck, I'd go with the Razer Carcharias. For the best I know some gamers who absolutely love the Razer Barracuda.

The Plantronic headsets are a bit iffy (by doing a google search on them, they are alright but not so great compared to Razer or Steelseries)

I personally use the Steelseries 7.1 because of the comfort (I sometimes put on my headset even though im not listening to anything >_>) and quality.

Gaming Keyboard:

Gaming keyboards are a must for any gamer, as you dont want the old ones getting stuck or becoming unresponsive which is a problem. Many people choose the Logictech G15 due to its many macro keys and quality.

*Razer Lycosa - $99.99

*Logitech G110 - $99.99

*Logitech G15 - $89.99 (sale)

Logitech G19 - $249.99

Microsoft Reclusa - $74.99

*Microsoft x6 - $89.99

I have the razer lycosa because it was on sale for me. the difference between the razer arctosa and lycosa is that the lycosa has an extra USB slot and lights up in the dark! if you plan to buy the Arctosa, be sure to get the silver version or else you wont be able to see the keys in a dark room.

If anything grab the G15 while its on sale. or grab the arctosa (silver) if you're on a budget.

The difference between the G110 and G15 is there is less features in the G110 than the G15

Gaming Mousepads:

RAZER DESTRUCTOR - dont argue! just get it. you wont regret it. I have this beast, it is soooooo awesome!

Another option is the cloth versions of Razer or Steelseries.

Hi Mark,

   I've noticed that you haven't mentioned the Logitech G13 Advanced Gameboard in here.  As an avid gamer myself, you've spoken about some good mice and good keyboards, but unfortunately have left out the gamepad option (which I wouldn't go without in any FPS). 

   And if you've never tried one yourself, I do recommend you give it a shot, you'll never go back to a standard keyboard for gaming again.

Another couple to look at that were cleanly missed were the Saitek options.  Noteably in keyboards - the Saitek Gaming Illuminated Keyboard, and the Saitek Cyborg kaypad. (Both I personally wouldn't buy, but the options should be listed).

I definatly agree with this, I have the Logitech G13 and I love it not only for FPS but for MMO's it is a must have. Anyone curious to what it is you can find it Here.

 You also need to add controllers, steering wheels , flight sticks all these things can enhance a players experience in many games.  Gaming accessories , there just to many of them.........

I would recommend the Saitek keyboards (Eclipse series & COD:MW2 edition). Backlights are great for gamers and avid PC users alike not to mention I have not had a problem with my Eclipse since I bought it about two years ago (one key got stuck, but a quick pull of the key and clean underneath it did the job!). I personally don't like to have a keyboard with ten billion hotkeys, so the simple design of the Saitek Eclipse I & II is great to me.

Headsets have always been hit or miss with me. As a person who enjoys high fidelity sound, I've found a much much more enjoyable experience using a stereo headphone and headset wrapped around my neck as a mic. A great combination for gaming being:

Rocketfish Headset

Shure SRH840 Stereo Headphone

Plug the headset in, sling it around your neck with the mic angled up and put on the SRH840s for some great, detailed gaming with a great soundstage for a closed headphone. Your results may vary depending on your sound card (source) or preferences in sound. I've been told the other headphones in the Shure SRH line aren't bad for gaming either. Despite popular belief, a good pair of stereo headphones can be far more advantageous than a surround sound headphone.

Yeah, the reason why I didnt mention the G13 is ive never heard of a gamer (here in oceania anyway) using it

never considered it an option! though ill add it anyway! thanks

@ evan: yes, stereo headphones are awesome for sound quality for gaming, but ive only added 'gaming headsets' that come with a mic, as most games require communication (like MMOs and FPS). It is a viable option, though the person would need to find a mic to go with it and may be in the way.
