Graphic card inquiry

My current graphic card has witnessed better days and simply cannot mange any longer, thus for the time being until I can upgrade to a full new PC I have been searching for a graphic card capable of handling some of the newer gaming titles, specifically Dragon Age and Mass Effect, and am curious to know if the BFG GeForce GT 220 1GB DDR2 PCI-E Video Card would suffice and if not what is the best recommended?

Re: Graphic card inquiry

This depends entirely on your current PC.  If you could post your computer name and model number, we can definitely guide you in the right direction :smileyhappy:

Re: Graphic card inquiry

The 220 is better than what you have now, but it is still a very low end card. (they have a version of your card for $99, getting a cheaper card probably not the best idea)

Seeing how these are on sale and both extremely good I'd recommend:

Top of the line card a few years ago, still extremely good for current games

You'll need a new power supply for it, this one is on sale and a good deal

A bit more than you were looking to spend maybe, but well worth it.

Re: Graphic card inquiry

kidavanger's suggestion is very good, it's a perfect card for your computer as a faster one would be limited by your processor.

As for the power supply unit he suggested, it's currently on sale at $59.99 but if you can't manage to grab it at that price the 550W version for the same PSU is selling at $69.99:

Re: Graphic card inquiry

I'd suggest you to question yourself about that move.. Do you really wanna invest 200$ into a new graphic card and power supply to play these games on medium setting? You're computer is getting dated, and it wouldn't be much more expensive to buy an entire new computer!

Just my two cents about it, the card kidavanger suggested would fit perfectly for your need though!
