I have a compaq presario cq56 laptop and i'm wondering if the game skyrim will work on this computer

I would say it will not run well enough to enjoy because of the graphcs card not powerful enough.

If you are looking for the full immersive experience, it will not do that.  However, if you were looking for lowest graphics running below acceptable framerate (15-22 FPS), it can achieve that.

It is the game that counts, not how it looks.

Just out of personal preference I never play PC games on a laptop, they can't nearly give the quality of graphics that can be achieved from a desktop. Your better off getting the game for console if you own one that it is available for.
