I pre-ordered Star Wars: The Old Republic and have found myself unable to continue playing it at the moment because it requires an active subscription despite being given a free month. So I called Future Shop and asked if they have the Game Time Cards, but they said they only have the game and no cards and had no idea if they would be getting any cards.

The problem is that you can't even access your account to play the game without an active subscription, so how do they expect to sell the game anyway?

I guess my question would be, would they order some in if I brought this up, or is it a lost cause? I know I'm not the only one from my town who has the game either, because I know there are some from my town on the SWTOR forums. This is the Future Shop in Sydney, NS.

You can buy a digital time card off (competitor) store if you're in a pinch — but be wary if they require you to run the (competitor) client full-time as its terms and conditions can do very mean things with your data.

The only problem with that though would be that if I wanted to use a credit card for it, I would just subscribe through the games website. I was hoping I'd be able to get the cards in-store.

If it were me, I would go to a Shopper's Drug Mart and buy a Visa Gift Card. Then, I'd use that to "subscribe" to the game. That should work in a pinch until you can source some actual game cards from a local shop.
