What is the difference between 4 K Ultra LED Smart TV and 4 K Ultra HD Android TV?

I am looking at buying a new TV and am wondering what the difference is between Smart TV and Android TV?

the "smart" TV will be based off that companies propriatary TV operating system, so for instance WebOS on LG or Tizen on samsung.

Android is just another OS for a smart TV..  The idea behind an android TV is that any company can use the OS for their TV, and through android the users gain access to the many many thousands of apps and games already available for android.

All Android TVs are "smart TVs", but not all smart TVs are Android TVs.

Hi @MJR , welcome to the Best Buy Plug in forum.

To clarify what @CtrlAltDel and @Twasnow mentioned, as all "Smart" TV's incorporate features that allow them to connect to the Internet and other devices using Wi-Fi or Network connection. Each "Smart" TV must use an Operating System, like Windows on your computer. As each manufacturer uses different a Operating System (OS) such as iOS , WebOS, etc.., Some manufacturers have opted for a more universal based system such as the ones used on tablets or phones being Android or iOS based devices.

Your choice of OS should be decided by the type of other devices and their OS, which you wish to interface with on the TV.
