That's the web-based Office, similar to Google Docs. It's free (with a MSN/Live account) and it's adequate for your run-of-the-mills documents (like a letter or resume). However, it's not as fast as Google Docs, and it won't replace the standalone Office packages when it comes to more complex documents.
Also you'll need a live Internet connection; thus no access on a plane.
