Hello,
I was wondering if I were to purchase the pre-ordered version (64.99 or w/e) how many lisences do I get (how many different computers can I install it on). Also can I upgrade a windows XP version to windows 7?
Thank you in advance

Each license is only good for one computer. This means that if you have 2 or more computers, you will need more than one copy of Windows 7.
As to your second question, yes, you can upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7, however you will need to do it as a clean install. It isn't hard to do, and is pretty much the same as reformatting your computer and reinstalling everything on it.

No. The OEM version of XP is for your laptop and your laptop only and will not work anywhere else. For your needs, you'll have to go for a full retail version of Windows 7 (or other OS).
Note that to save money, you can buy OEM versions of operating systems, but you cannot transfer an OEM version from one computer to another (with retail, you can, although you can only run one license at a time).

Some one needs to learn to proofread.

Hey kellyreddog, I'm on the west coast and because Future Shop's warehouse is located in Mississauga, I have a feeling they shipped the ones for Western Canada earlier to ensure they get here in time. I'm guessing yours will ship tomorrow or Wednesday as you are located in Ottawa.
Yup, from the sounds of it, most people are excited about Windows 7. And this is the first time I'm jumping on the presale for an OS. ![]()
