To apply for your Windows 7 Upgrade, go to this page. Find your computer's manufacturer in the list, and note if you need your original receipt or if you need to pay shipping. From there, click on the upgrade link that corresponds to your computer's manufacturer, and follow their instructions on their website to give them your information and order your copy of Windows 7.

Hope that helps!

Head over to this webpage for information on where to go to register and apply for your free copy of Windows 7.  Scroll down to the manufacturor (brand) of your new computer for the link to their website for further information on what you need and how to follow through.  Keep in mind that you may need to present proof of purchase (reciept), and you may be required to pay for shipping costs, depending on the manufacturor.

Re: how do i get my( free windows 7 upgrade)

I just go through all the steps to get my free version of Windows 7 for my Toshiba laptop. The bad news is that I had to pay over $20 for shipping and even worse that I should receive it in about 8 weeks. So my question is: is it really worth paying over $20 and wait 2 months for a program which is only worth $115?

Re: how do i get my( free windows 7 upgrade)

I have gone to the Sony website for the W7 upgrade but it is asking me to purchase a retail version of the software.  This doesn't sound like a free upgrade.  \i purchased my desktop Sept. 26, 2009.  Where do i go from here?
