if I buy a computer with Windows 7 home - can i upgrade it to Pro? I am asking about the HP Intel Pentium E5500 Computer (P6506F) for $599

Certainly. You'll need to purchase the Windows 7 Home Premium to Professional Anytime Upgrade, then use that to upgrade the copy of Windows 7 the computer comes with. The upgrade process is very straight foward, and usually takes about half an hour.
