Thanks for the update, Godwin! I prefer the CE version for sure, and yes, I will be there on release day.
And debaser, I just grabbed a PS3 game and stuck it there for the picture in case people start asking, "Is it G1 or G2? It looks G1 to me!!"
Thanks to everyone on the FS team for making this happen! And to think it all started on this forum.
This FF SteelBook is perfect and will be a definite hit!

So since it is not possible to preorder the CE edition instore or set it for instore pick up, is it possible to get the steelbooks if we get the CE edition in store on jan 31? Or are the inbook steelbooks reserved for those that preorder the normal edition?

I think the steebooks are only given to the people that pre-ordered the game.
It's like a bonus for ordering early.

Steelbooks are usually reserved for pre-orderd customers, unless some stores didn't get enough pre-orders then it should be given out in first come first served sequence.

So us chumps who line up first for collectors instore may get no steelbooks, why is it preordering instore of collectors is not allowed for (competitor) and futureshop? Makes us miss out on preorder bonus, think about it, collectors usually obsess over these things to begin with anyways.
In any case I'll order online, just hoping shipping would not kill my items. Thanks!

The only way to ensure you to receive a steelbook is to pre-order your copy of FFXIII-2. Therefore, if you pre-order a regular edition, you will qualify.
If the collection edition is still available on the day of release, you could simply upgrade to the collection edition with your current deposit amount at the time of your purchase. In the end, you would still get what you want and everyone is happy. ![]()
As for your other question, the reason FS do not do pre-orders for collection/limited editions in-stores because the availability of these items to each stores varies and there might not be enough to fill pre-orders for every store. Therefore, all pre-orders for collector editions has to go through futureshop.ca

On day 1 at the store for new release games, it can get hectic and items can be missed sometimes.
Thanks.

I am assuming godwin was the person who spearheaded the operation of bring the Final Fantasy XIII-2 Steelbook to us. As many other posters; this is extremely appreciated. Thank you godwin.
I do have one question; I would like to have godwin, as the expert of the situation, answer it, so as Final Fantasy fan I it would ease my nerves. It is about what we 'exactly' get.
From what I am reading on this thread; if we ordered the Final Fantasy XIII-2 or the Final Fantasy XIII-2 Collectors Edition we get this:
1. We get the steelbook empty and not factory sealed with a barcode (on the back I believe).
and
2. We get the normal edition or the collectors edition factory sealed?
In otherwords, the steelbook is completely seperate from the game itself... Right?
Is this correct, godwin?
The reason why this is relatively important is because I would like the game itself arrive to me completely sealed. The steelcase is amazing. However, I would not like the game itself in it; because it wouldn't be factory sealed.
Anyone else other then godwin would like to weigh in for previous experience, please share; however, I would like this question to be answered confidently by godwin.
BTW: If I wanted another steelbook can I buy it on its own? If so, what price?
Thanks again. Greatly appreciated.
If anything is unclear please let me know.
