Who's planning on picking this up tomorrow? I've never played a minute of this franchise before, but some of the hype has me intrigued. I don't generally do racing games, and I've always (naively?) lumped Twisted Metal into that category, but this game sounds a lot more like full-on multiplayer deathmatch vehicular mayhem.
It really looks like the focus is on online play, which is cool, so anyone with past love for the franchise have any thoughts on that aspect? Possibly a fun online alternative for those of us who don't like having our sorry butts handed to us at so many Gears of Modern Battlefield Warfares? ![]()

I've literally owned everyone of the games in the series for each system and looking forward to playing this. I haven't downloaded the demo, but I'm sure it'll be a fun alternative to a shooting game.
To top it off, it even comes with a DLC voucher for the full-version of Twisted Metal: Black that was released on PS2.

So glad I picked this up, definitely a raucous good time! I found the story mode very new player friendly to start and didn't have much trouble at all grasping the control basics and diving in.
Only downside so far is that I was finding it difficult to get an online game going. There were plenty of users online and it was easy to join a game, but often I found myself matched up and in queue with 6 - 8 other players waiting to go, but for whatever reason the owner wasn't choosing to fire it up.
