I preordered FFXIII about a week ago when it said there were 24 copies left. I've yet to recieve a shipment conformation today, so I check my preorder status and it says sold out. Is this just a generic message? or do I have to wait until restocked to get my preorder? That's a little redicilous seeming as it said my pre order was in stock when I ordered it.

I pre ordered it months ago, in January...  I got the out of stock msg too.. I called and they said it mean that they sold out before that ... so they were sold out before January. I guess they pout available online so that people still try to buy it instead of going somewhere else. but anyway I  cancel my order and went to a shop they had copies there... I suggest you do the same if you dont want to wait weeks...

Futureshop does this with every game you preorder on their website. They list them as backordered and don't start shipping them until a week later. My guess would be they keep the stock in their warehouses reserved in case the in store sales are higher than expected and don't care about their online customers.

I pre-ordered FFXIII on Dec 6th and I got the out of stock email today as well.

The funny thing is that many local futureshop stores in my area has FFXIII in stock so I don't understand how this pre-order thing works. If pre-order doesn't guarantee the stock, what's the point of pre-ordering items?

I also pre ordered FF13. I didn't get any email or anything, but when I went to check the status of my order yesterday, it did say out of stock. I doesn't look like my order has moved at all. A few local FS stores around my area have the game stock too. Why is it that I haven't gotten the game yet? I don't see the point in pre ordering again from FS if it doesn't guarantee me a copy when I can just go to a local game store and purchase it.
