Hi Walter! I understand the confusion. There is alot of choice and lots of specifications to go over. I can reccommend the LG 55LE5300 or the LG 55LE7300. The 5300 is on sale this week at 1399.99 and the 7300 is 200 more for the latest engine and top of the line LG.
LED is a great choice for your light situation in the room. LG offers lots of options for tuning your picture perfectly for your room. This ISF modde makes it a very popular choice amongst our Product Experts as well. Remeber when making your purchase to ask about Connect Pros services for Calibration and install. They will definitely help you get the most out of your panel whichever you choose.
Cheers!

LED would absolutely be the best choice for your lighting situation. Check out some of the Samsung sets - they carry some really nice, quality products that have set the bar for the LED TV market. I've got a smaller Samsung LED display and I am blown away by its quality. I'd recommend doing some research online prior to purchasing a TV - get to know the specs and what the TV you eventually want to go with can do. Having ConnectPro techs come into your home and calibrate the TV for you is one option, but sometimes an extra $299 plus tax is a bit steep. You've got time to make the call, so I'd take it home, set it up and if you like the picture the way you get it set up, then keep your money. It's not something that needs to be decided right away, so don't let yourself be pressured into getting the calibration.
I will however, wholeheartedly recommend the Product Service Plan. You'll get in-home service if something goes wrong, and it covers a lot more than just what the manufacturer's warranty does. When you look at how much it costs to have a TV serviced in this day and age, paying an extra bit on the end to avoid that hassle later is absolutely a good diea.
