Is It a DeAd or StUcK Pixel?

At this point i am really confused and need help as this will my 3rd attempt purchasing a HDTV..lol

so 2 days ago i picked up a Samsung LCD  LN40B610 TV and i ran the colour slides to check for the dead or stuck pixels...

So to my disappointment (yet again) i have noticed a 3 dead or stuck pixels that only show when i run any colour of blue or white colour slide

So when i run a blue colour slide it shows as  a dark pixel ( i guess that would be black colour pixel)

and when i run a white or off white colour slide i notice same pixel colour as yellow pixel

So my question is are these pixels dead or Stuck??

What is my best option?? Exchange at the store till i get a one with no dead or stuck pixels?

BTW i did buy the 4 yr ESP

any thoughts would be really appreciated

Thanks,:smileysad:

I would exchange it and not worry about whether it is a stuck or dead pixel. In this case it looks like a stuck pixel and not a dead pixel. Consider this, if you are out of the exchange period, you might have trouble making use of the warranty since most manufacturers have a minimum requirement for dead pixels to be present (i.e.. 20) before doing any work. So I would definitely exchange even if the pixel is somehow exorcised...

Regardless, I would like to know what panel your Samsung is using; S, A or C?

Re: Is It a DeAd or StUcK Pixel?

I would have given you that info if i had kept the TV....:smileyvery-happy: as i tested the tv for 3 -4 days inspite of dead/stuck pixel but did not like the way PQ was..very cartoony...i just did not like the picture depth and the way it handled SD feed...for that reason i am going back to Plasma but to my luck now this would have been 4th attempt and Panasonic came with the bad news...so lets see what goes next....G25/G15 or something else
