New TVs from CES 2012

I was wondering when the New TV models From CES 2012 usually are delivered to futureshops?  I am interested in a 55inch LG LED 3d smart tv but last years model with the thick frame is just ugly compared to the 4mm bezel of 2012's models

thanks

LG OLED TVs

[ Edited ]

Release dates are determined by the manufacturer.

If you are referring to the new LG OLED (Organic LED) TVs that were showcased at CES 2012, they are not scheduled for release until Q3 of 2012, which means July-August timeframe.

However you may want to re-think about that 'ugly' frame around the LED TV.  The new OLED TVs will not be cheap as they use a totally different manufacturing process and large screens are always prone to yield issues for new technology.

Expect to pay 2x or 3x the price of the current 55" models, which judging from Future Shop's last Boxing Day sale would set the price of these new models to be $3200 to $4800 Cdn.  Not exactly priced for the average consumer.

Re: LG OLED TVs

Thanks but there is no way i could afford to buy a OLED tv at todays rates. I was just referring to the LED based models with passive 3d, smart technology, and thin bezel.

Re: LG OLED TVs

Remember that with passive 3D you lose 1/2 the vertical resolution. 1920x540.

Re: New TVs from CES 2012

Q3 is for the OLED, but how about the LED TVs LM6200, LM6700, LM7600??  When is Futureshop or other Canadian retailers going to carry them.  They are already available in the US.  I saw on one site a March 30 release date, however not sure if that is for Canada...

The LM7600 and 6200 are on Future Shop's website as of yesterday evening:

But no 6700, which is the model I was waiting for (I hate motion interpolation on films, so I don't care about the 7600's 240Hz).  If it doesn't show up, I may eventually just go with the LW5600, basically the 2011 version of it, instead.

Re: New TVs from CES 2012

This is great news However I am looking for the 55 inch models and would also prefer the 6700 but would settle with the 6200. I just check (competitor) and they don't have any new LGs displayed... Like previous poster mentioned almost all models are available in the US with added bundles thrown in (3d br player/starterkit) thrown in to the price at (competitor) USA. Let's go Canada pick up your socks

Ya. The US always gets stock first, higher population density, more buying power. Or the threat of invasion, LOL!

Re: New TVs from CES 2012

I have to admit, so far I'm not very impressed with the 2012 LG models FS has chosen to stock.  A whole array of 6200s, some overpriced compared to LG's MSRP and some priced less (shouldn't this be consistent, one way or the other?) and one lone 7600.  I really hope they're planning on offering more, but with so many of the lower-end 6200s filling up each size category, I doubt there's that much more space in their catalogue lineup.

Apparently someone agreed with me.  The 47LM7600's price was raised by $150 recently, so that it's now priced slightly higher than LG's MSRP.  So nice to be living in a time of USD/CDN parity, lol.
