Hi there
I have an LG 42 inch plasma and the pcb needed to be replaced. i was told it was because the coaxial cable receiver box is a piece of do-do from china and it caused it to blow. i was told that i am to call Rogers and tell them to replace the box. next time it happens it won't be covered under warranty. has anyone ever heard of this before? the guy told me that it happens often....if anyone could help, that would be great!

You should plug in your cable box into a power bar that will have an input/output for the coax cable. You can get surges that way. However, I can't see your cable box carrying enough current through the cable to fry your TV.
